About TRACY MRF

Tracy Material Recovery & Solid Waste Transfer Facility was constructed in 1995 to help the City of Tracy and San Joaquin County achieve compliance with the Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989.

Tracy Material Recovery Facility “the MRF” is a specialized facility that receives and processes solid wastes, recyclables, green wastes, wood and other inert wastes. The MRF prepares recyclable materials for marketing to end-users through a combination of mechanical and manual sorting.

What’s Next ?

The solid waste and recycling industry is continually changing and growing. We are currently expanding the green waste and wood waste processing areas, and are working to reduce our carbon footprint through the addition of a wood waste biomass gasification plant.
